The Whole World Is White !

By white I mean covered in snow and by the whole world, I mean parts of the US and parts of the UK. Almost all the world then. The important bits anyway.

We went out to do a bit of shopping this afternoon and as a break from photographing the most photogenic kid in the whole world ever, I took some piccies of the snow.

Round the back of the house we have the 5th wheel which being white, is almost camouflaged. Putting up photos of it will remind/show readers why I picked my username on here !

One thing about the cold here is that it lasts a LONG time and so icicles become stalactites over time. We have a good selection round the back of the house and the longer ones should reach the ground by the time we leave !

As we're only here for a week, it's pretty cool (literally) and certainly easier to believe it's Christmas than when we're in central Florida.

I still know where I'd rather be....weatherwise....but Mason sure is a great reason for being here too.

These photos are exactly why we live at Houghton Lake :). Did the Florida thing - ugh! Haven't been to the UK but would like to go...for a visit. To me there is nothing more lovely than a fresh snowfall.

Glad you're enjoying your trip to our town, and Mason is adorable! :)

All white in Leeds too - but, of course, we're not geared up for it as it hardly ever snows. I just dug out and defrosted the car as I HAVE to go out this morning. Sorry, ChiaOwl, I have to disagree with you - bring on the palm trees!

When Mrs. RWP and I lived near Omaha, Nebraska, icicles reached from the roof to the ground.

I used to confuse stalactites and stalagmites until someone suggested "ants in your pants" as a mnemonic -- because when the mites go up, the tights come down....sorry, but it had to be said.

There you have it Daphne, the reason the world is made up of many climates! Those of us who love the snow can live where we have cold long winters, and those that don't can go wherever the weather suits them :).

RWP - I always learned that stalactites need to hang on "tite" so they don't fall...but have to admit I like yours better :).

This puts a different slant on the compliment "Hey you're cool man!" Mind you it is currently "cool" in Yorkshire too and I have to drive over The Snake Pass to Manchester Airport in six hours time... Bed now I think. Hope you make it safely back to FL and warmth.

I just called out to OH 'Hey, they have snow in Flori ... oh ... er ... never mind.'

ROFL!

Looks pretty though, huh? We have snow here and it's turned to ice, but no icicles yet - probably because it's been below freezing day and night since the darned stuff fell.

Apparently being in Michigan is not conducive to blogging, or you are constantly playing with little Mason, or you have frozen your bippy off and can't wait to get back to Florida so it will thaw.

Happy Christmas, wherever you are!
